A little help.

Add the widget
Open the app once. Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen, tap Edit, choose Add Widget, then search for In Another Life. Small, medium and large layouts are available. The app’s Add Widget button explains the steps; iOS controls placement.
Pair with your person
Choose “Start a daily ritual together” or open Settings → Pairing. Send the invitation and have your person accept it using the same collection and timezone. If the web link doesn’t open the app, choose Open in the app on its invitation page, or copy the pairing code and paste it into the app’s pairing screen.
Different photos?
Check that both apps use the same pairing, collection version and timezone. Skips, hidden photos and 24-hour pins are personal to each device, so they can make your screens different. Existing pairings can choose Settings → Use the latest collection together. iOS decides when widgets refresh; open the app to request a refresh.
Private iCloud reactions
Both people need iCloud. In Settings → Shared reactions, the owner invites only their partner using Apple’s private sharing sheet with permission to make changes. Accept the invitation and confirm the shared schedule. Use Refresh reactions to request the latest state. The widget badge shows the last saved result, not a live presence or read receipt.
Stop sharing or remove cloud data
Disconnect on this device clears its local connection only. It does not revoke access or delete cloud records. Use Manage sharing to remove a participant or stop sharing. In the public-release candidate, Delete my shared reactions removes your reactions from the current share. The owner can choose Delete shared pairing from iCloud to permanently remove its schedule, invitation and both people’s reactions. These actions require confirmation and leave local favourites and your offline schedule unchanged. Earlier beta1015 does not have these deletion buttons—update when the new beta is available.
Wallpaper is optional
Open a photo’s details, choose Wallpaper, then save it to Photos. Select it yourself in iOS Settings or the Lock Screen editor. The app cannot silently replace your wallpaper.
Without iCloud or a partner
Bundled daily photos and the widget work solo and offline. Only optional shared reactions need iCloud. Read the full privacy policy.
